Padma Nguyen Brings New Life to Coal Harbour’s Caviar Bistro

Vancouver, BC – May 23, 2025
A daily walk. A perfect coffee. A quiet moment on the seawall. That’s how it began.

Meet Padma Nguyen, the new owner of Caviar Bistro – a woman whose love for Vancouver, for community, and for calm, thoughtful living led her to take the reins of this light and breezy Coal Harbour café.

For Padma, the space was more than just a café. It was part of her ritual: a serene stop along the beautiful seawall, right across from the marina where cruise ships drift past and yachts bob gently on the blue ocean.

“I would walk the seawall every morning, just breathing in the energy,” Padma says. “And I always found myself drawn to this little bistro. The smell of the coffee, the bright space, the sunlight on the patio—it all gave me joy. One day I heard it was for sale, and something in me just said yes.”

That “yes” was more than a business move. For Padma, it was a calling.

A devoted Buddhist, she believes in the sacred rhythm of daily life, in creating peaceful spaces, and in sharing kindness through food and hospitality. Under her capable hands, Caviar Bistro is blossoming into a much-loved French-Vietnamese café. The offerings of warm croissants, bold coffees, refined brunch dishes, and delicate Vietnamese bites are always served with grace and purpose.

She envisions Caviar as a little sanctuary tucked between city and sea. A place where seawall strollers, cyclists, neighbours, and curious tourists can pause, connect, and breathe.

“It’s peaceful here,” she says. “You feel it in the breeze off the water, in the quiet laughter from the patio, in the stillness between sips. I just want to honour that.”

Come meet Padma and discover the spirit of the new Caviar Bistro. Here, peace meets plate, and breakfast to sunset dining wanders from Saigon’s streets to French cafés.
